I'm Kris, 45 from California. I recently ran into a friend from ~2001 on Reddit, which sent me into a spiral of nostalgia ever since 😂 I've been going through my old files, looking at my old artwork, reading old chat logs, searching for old bookmarks and links on archive.org, etc. I have such an ache for the old days.

I wasn't active on very many forums back then - honestly, I was SO intimidated by them, they seemed so much cooler than me, and they often seemed pretty cliquey 😂 But I miss the friendships I still managed to have. The late night group chats and everything. I definitely took it for granted, big time.

My main haunt was The Dollarstore/Love Shack, and I ran my own board here and there, too (Visage, and later Cosmic). The only person I managed to stay in touch with since the very beginning (~24 years!) passed away last year. Losing him might have something to do with all my nostalgic pain too. Haha.

Anyway, that's my origin story I guess, hahaha. These days, I'm back into Neopets and Fanlistings, hahaha. It feels good to keep those going. Maybe a personal site is next for me, but I'm not sure. Thinking about it.

Welcome! I'm so glad you found us I also felt that the XMB forums were where all the cool kids hung out, they were kind of intimidating to join!
Have you checked out my other project, @00sbloglayouts on Instagram? A few people have been reunited on there, so it might be worth a look and see if you recognise any names.
